Mema Visit

My mom came to visit so she can be here for Aniston's arrival so she can help me with Presley. Presley really loved having her Mema here. We try FaceTiming as much a possible, but there is nothing like being with the person. It was so great having her here. I enjoyed the time with her and she was so helpful!!! Being in the military and moving all the time it really makes you cherish all the time you get with your loved ones. I don't get a lot of to spend time with my family since we live in a different state, but when I do get time to spend with them I enjoy every moment!

First week as a Mother of two!

The first week as a mother of two went well. Presley started adjusting well. At first she did throw some tantrums because she is used to having me there 24/7 and now I am occupied taking care of her sister two. But I started figuring out how to take care of Aniston with nursing while playing with Presley at the same time. Can you say multitasking?? :)

Presley is loving having another baby around now. She even tries to give Aniston her pacifier if she is crying and tries rocking the swing for her. I am truly blessed! One word of advice for anyone who is having two under two is to baby wear. It makes my life so much easier!!!

Aniston Mae arrived!

September 1, 2017

One August 31, I had a doctors appointment to check on how everything was progressing with Aniston. My due date wasn't until the following week. However, when I went to the doctor she said I was already 3 cm and 50% effaced and she didn't think it would be long for Aniston to arrive, could even be that same day. Of course I was ecstatic!!! My mom was already here, I was very uncomfortable and I wanted to meet my beautiful baby girl.

The day went by and I just made sure everything was ready in case she came early. Well around 7pm I started feeling some contractions. I started timing them and they were about 5 minutes apart. I did that for an hour and then told John that it was time to go to the hospital.

Off we went and sure enough they said I was in labor. However, my water at this point still didn't break. I wanted for about two hours and they gave me the epidural. This epidural was much better than the one I had with Presley. I was able to feel my legs, but couldn't feel the contractions :) Around 2am they came in to break my water since it still didn't break and I was determined to have Aniston with this doctor (the same doctor that delivered Presley).

Then around 7:30 am they checked to see if I was ready to deliver and sure enough I was ready! After five minutes and only 8 pushes she was out! This was the easiest delivery ever!!! Immediately after deliver I tried nursing her and she latched on right away. I knew right then that she was going to be a big eater! The nurses let me nurse her for an hour before they took her to do her weight check and first bath.

9 Months

  • Diaper Size: 3 and pampers overnight size 3
  • Clothes Size: 6-9 months (just trying to use them all as much as possible, but they are tight), 9 months.
  • Eat: She is eating 7 oz of formula in the morning, 2 bottles of 6oz in the afternoon and 8 oz before bed. Occasionally, one of the afternoon bottles will be breastmilk using some of the frozen stash that I have. She eats three solid meals a day. She loves cantaloupe, blueberries, yogurt and any meat.
  • Sleep: She is sleeping throughout the night, on her belly. She will sleep from 7-8:30. She started only having one nap in the afternoon and it has been sleeping on either John or I. Not sure why she won't nap in her crib anymore. But since she is sleeping 13.5 hours throughout the night, she will only nap once during the day. It has to be before 3 otherwise she gives us a hard time putting her to sleep at night.
  • Play: She is still crawling like crazy and getting faster every day. She is now pulling herself up to stand. She wants to walk holding on to something, but hasn't had the guts to do it yet. Hopefully soon! She is starting to like blocks a lot more now.
  • Milestones: She is pulling herself up to stand and has three bottom teeth.
  • Likes: She still has such big appetite. She loves food. She will eat ANYTHING! She loves to stand up and thinks its a game. She adores the dogs.
  • Dislikes: Napping in her crib.
  • Personality: She is such a happy baby. We are truly blessed! She loves to laugh, smile and clap her hands.

  • Dear Presley,

Mommy and Daddy love you so much. You are truly the happiest baby on Earth! We thank God every day for sending us you. We are blessed. I know soon you aren't going to be an only child and I am going to miss that. But I know you are going to be such a wonderful big sister. I know you are going to love her so much and want to play with her all the time. It is amazing seeing you grow each day. Seeing you laugh because you can stand up now is so cute! Can't wait to hear your voice more and to hear to say "Mama." We love you so much!

    Love Always,

    Mommy and Daddy

    Father's Day

This was John's first official Father's Day and I wanted to make sure it was extra special. To start off the day, I made him his favorite breakfast… Steak and eggs. He said it was better than the Cheesecake Factory! That is a big compliment. On the side he had cinnamon buns because we are grateful that he works his BUNS off to bring home the bacon :)
After breakfast we relaxed together and watch OITNB. Presley gave him the gift of Mountain Dew she made him because she Dew loves him and her Father's Day card. Then we headed off to get ribs from a restaurant that he has never been to and got the best chocolate cake from Publix. We enjoyed a late lunch. Later, John enjoyed a game of Ultimate Frisbee with some friends. After we put Presley to sleep we enjoyed our dessert. He said he really loved his first Father's Day.

This was a shirt I gave him last Father's Day. I had to squeeze her in it since it was  the size for 3 months lol

    Blueberry Farm

    June 7, 2017

We went to a blueberry farm. It was so cute seeing Presley try to pick the blueberries off the branches. Of course, she was not able to do it, but she tried :) She even tried to eat them, but we had to stop her because we need to cut them in half so they aren't a choking hazard. When we got home I washed them and gave her some for lunch. Her face was so funny when she went to eat it because they were very sweet. Looking forward to the other fruits we can pick in the upcoming months :) While we were picking the blueberries I kept thinking how cute this will be next year with Presley walking and picking them herself and her little sister tagging along. The best is yet to come!
